My son started at two, he's three now and still doing so. I would just suggest the child should be able to communicate withyou while in there and be able to do it enough to where he/should be can understand verbal commands.

I make sure I stay within ear shot of him, I usually clean up the bathroom, or use it as time to read.

I'd say about 5 or 6, but remember to fit a rubber anti-slip mat first that sticks on with suction cups - I remember when I was about that age, we'd just had a shower fitted in the house for the first time (around 1983 - 1985) and I was stood in the bath just after the shower had been demonstrated........ and I ended up slipping flat on my back (and it bloody hurt too),

I think I started taking showers when I was about 9 or 10. I guess they can start taking showers whenever they feel like they are ready and want to

At age five to seven sounds about right. The water temperature should be adjusted in advance with instructions to the child on using the hot and cold (but not to change it without parental supervision until the child is very familiar with it). I would have a parent closeby for the first dozen or so times just to make sure everything's ok.

I guess any age is fine as long as they are supervised as you would do with them if they were taking a bath. My boys started taking showers around 4-5 years old. It seriously reduced the amount of water on the floor from taking baths.

I guess when they are able to stand up and understand safety measures on their own. My son started taking showers when he was 5. He actually told me he was ready, he sometimes prefers the shower because he likes to play in the water that way.

lol! I didn't take showers until I was at least 13! I HATED the water coming down on me like that! But, I'd think when they're ready, and can do everything themselves.
Liked the no-slip suggestions.

My daughter took showers with me from the time she was born, she just started taking them by herself and she's 2 1/2, I of course still have to help her rinse her hair and all, but she loves them!

I started bathing alone at age 5, started taking showers alone at 7.
My children are still babies, and are all too young to be bathing alone.

My kids were about 6. Once they can wash their own hair and you can trust them to wash their bodies too. Just make sure to make the shower floor slip proof.
