I always cringe when I see those words together: fast weight loss. Yikes! You didn't gain those 15 lbs quickly and you might not lose them quickly.
Actually, it's not really healthy for you to drop an enormous amount of weight in a short period of time. Think of it this way: a person weighs 150 lbs. His organs are all functioning to support the 150 lbs...his heart pumps a certain amount of blood, his lungs take in a certain amount of oxygen, etc. You get the idea. Say that person loses 5 lbs in one week. Suddenly, his body has to reporgram itself to start functioning for 145 lbs. That is no small feat! You want to lose the weight in a progressive, healthy manner.

Having said that...if you want to lose weight, I swear by a combination of strenght training and cardio. Yes, lift some weights and take some group classes where you get your heart rate up in order to burn fat. It has worked for me! Between February and July, I've lost over 13 lbs...only because I eat properly and I consistenly visit the gym. Another suggestion I would give is to not get caught up with numbers. Gauge your success by how your clothes fit (or hopefully how they don't fit and are too big!). If you are gaining muscle, the scale might not move much as muscle is more dense than fat. Shoot for inches, not pounds.
Good luck!
