Open bar means that it won't cost you anything as a guest. Be reasonable, though. You don't want their wedding memory to be that you got up on one of the tables and danced the funky chicken with a tie around your head.

Open bar means just that...they have put out a certain amount of money for the alcohol so the guests do not have to pay for drinks. A cash bar you have to apy for your drinks yourself. Just remember on an open bar even though you are not paying for it someone is so be modest in the amount you consume. Also, make sure you bring cash to tip the bartender. I normally suggest $1.00 a drink and also give a little extra toward the wedding gift since this is just like them giving you a gift

An open bar, also called a host bar, is when the host of the event, in this case a wedding, pays for the cost of the drinks at the bar. (When the guest pays, it is called a "cash bar" or a "non-host bar."
You may want to consider taking a few dollars with you for tipping. The standard for tipping is $1 per drink.

Open bar means it is free but don't over do it and look like a fool because you drink as much as you want. Try to limit yourself. The only money you would have to put out would be just to tip the bartenders which would be a nice gesture.

open bar means you are drinking for free! But bring some ones to tip the bartender! I am a bartender and i hate when its open bar and they dont leave a tip! Also maybe add 25.00 more to what you were going to give them for being so generous to have open bar!!!

Open bar is that they pay for it, a cash bar is when you have to pay for each drink. Tips for bartender are in order with an open bar.

Open bar means the drinks are free, but you'll still be expected to tip the bartenders. Just remember, its free for you because the bride and groom are paying for your drinks, so try to keep it to a moderate level. Besides, no one wants a guest acting like a drunkard at their wedding, and I doubt you want to be that guest either. ;)

"Open bar", means that the drinks will be complementary to the guests attending the wedding. You should bring money to tip the bartender. Usaully, around $1.00 a drink.

Open bar is free. You just go up to the bartendar and tell them what you want (i.e. rum and coke, draft beer, glass of Pinot Noir, etc)
You are suppose to tip though. Usually a dollar for every drink or two.
Have fun/
