Just enough to allow you to tow the InvisibleSkyPixie Line.

There's real good money to be made from religion - Pushing it or Treating it - IF you can keep a straight face.

Tithing is no more required in Christianity than any of the rest of the law, such as circumcision.

But if you get sucked into tithing, you hurt yourself, and enrich a wolf in sheep's clothing.

And tithing in the Bible was never assessed of wages, but rather the increase of produce and livestock only.

Well it leaves us with enough to pay our mortgage and other bills every month, fill our gas tank, provide plenty to eat, and usually some left over to go out in the evening every so often.

PoseidenNeptuneReturns, that was the Catholic church, and the majority didn't do that; you shouldn't generalize like that. Secondly, re. selling everything, that's referring to one instance where Jesus told a man that. Jesus knew the man loved his wealth and possessions too much to give it all up to follow Him. The bottom line is that we have faith in God, and we trust God that He will take care of our needs. He always comes through for us.

Matthew 6:33 -- But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

More if you give the 10%, in times of extream struggle, you can do work for the Church instead. Extream struggle is not having to cut back some because the interest went up on your lake home.

I did not believe it when I was younger, I do today. We don't give to expect a reward, but that is what happens. When we remove the consumerism that the society is pushing on us to make us think we NEED to buy things to be happy, we become better managers AND happier even with less money.

Peace be with you!

Without God life is not worth living and the wages of sin are death/hell.

Romans 6:22-23 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)

22But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Your tithes go to pay off molested kids. Stop funding the pedos.

You hypocrites. You tithe with the expectation that god will support you. He never said that, jesus said to sell everything and follow him. Not give him a pittance and expect to get a reward for it.

k716: You love your possessions and will never sell them. You will justify to yourself any way you can but you will never ever sell everything and give it to the church. You are a hypocrite.

God will always provide......

I'd rather live on 90% of His money than on 100% of my own.

I tithe....and I've seen His provision work in my life first hand
