Jesus spoke of only one way and he said the gate was narrow to get in.
Jesus and the apostles said that after their deaths there would be a falling away from the faith and that wolves in sheeps clothing would infiltrate the flock. These wolves enticed people away into seperate sects with modified beliefs. Over time, we have arrived at the present day.
The mark of a true Christian would be they would have love for their God and love for their fellow humans. Love in the case of God would mean you would follow his commandments, in the case of humans, it means you would never try to harm them and treat them the way you would want to be treated.

First you have to ask yourself whether there even IS a 'true religion'. Asking how you can find 'the true religion' without asking this first is sort of like asking why 7*9 is 54 without first verifying that it is in fact 54.
There is only one known consistently workable way to find the truth, and that is logical investigation. If you want to find the 'true answer' to 7*9, you use logic and that can give you the answer. If you want to figure out what happens if you pour water onto a hot frying pan without actually having to try it, you can use logic to extrapolate such a scenario from the known properties of hot frying pans and water. And similarly, if you want to find whether or not God exists and what God is like, you look at the evidence for and against God and evaluate it logically. Logic is what works to find the truth. Believing in things on faith does NOT work to find the truth, all it does is close your mind to the possibility that you may be wrong and that the Universe may have other things to show you than what your holy book says.

1. All Abrahamic religions (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam) are pleasing to God on some levels. I hold that, in general Christ's teachings hold the most truth.
2. Eph 4:5 says "One Lord, one faith, one baptism", yet according to the Christian World Almanac, there are over 38,000 Christian denominations. 1 Corinthians 14:33 says "God is not the author of confusion". I believe that Satan pushes to drive Christians in different directions to deunify them.
3. True Christians can be identified by the fruit of the spirit spelled out in Galatians 5:22-23:
“But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
Add charity and intelligence to that, and you have your definition of what Christ wanted his followers to be.

Using the term, "religion" masks the real issue.
One must believe the gospel; one must believe the Son.
True Christians are identified by two things:
1.
John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
2. By their fruits:
Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
The fruits you judge by are found here:
Galatians 5:22.
True Christians are NOT defined by their doctrines.

There is only one God and only one way to please Him. The reason there so many religions is that they were made by men. The only christian religion that was made by God is the Catholic one. It dates back to the time of Jesus Himself. How could God say one thing is a sin today and then it's not tomorrow? Every church has problems because of the human element, the catholic church is no exeption. But the fact that it has survived over 2000 years, with many raging persecutions, is reasoned to believe it is blessed by God. Pilot said"What is truth?". Jesus said "Ask and you shall recieve". God can neither decieve nor be decieved. Pray to Him for the light of truth.

If you want a "religion" that is "true" to you... then just pick one that "feels good" and join up... stay till it gets boring and then pick another one...noe of them are "true" except in that they make those partaking "feel good" in some way.... none have any thing to do with The One True God.
It is difficult to "identify" Those of The True Christian Faith... even if you become one you still will not be able to tell for sure who is and who is not... that is for God ot Know for certain... and for the individual of course... I know I am of The True Christian Faith... but I can not prove it to you and I will not even try...
1. No...None... all "religion" is man invented
2. Ego and Pride
All who come to God in The Way He prescribes will receive His free gift of Salvation. Those become part of The Body of The Church of which Jesus The Christ is The Head. Those are the ones of The True Christian Faith. Only those of The Church will enter Heaven.
If you have questions concerning the basics of The True Christian Faith feel free to email me. One honest question will receive one honest answer to the best of my ability.

You have to keep looking and asking questions, but the most important thing is to ask God for guidance with an open and sincere heart.
God is pleased when we turn to Him, but He also wants us to turn to Him with a correct understanding of His nature. He is One with neither partners, nor children.
As there are many different people on the earth with different temperments, desires, and levels of understanding, so there are also many ways to understand the Bible.
I think you identify true Christians by whether or not they follow the Bible in their life.

The Bible says in Jeremiah, "If you seek for me, then you shall find me, when you search for me with all your heart, and I shall be found of you, says the LORD (Jehovah)"
Jesus said, "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness" and "Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you."
Question 2: Satan wants to discredit God, so He put LOTS of counterfeits out there to confuse people.
Question 3: Jesus said "They shall know you are my disciples by the love you have for others"
One quick last point. The Bible says that true religion, undefiled, is to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, visit those in hospitals and in prison, etc.

Philippians 2:11-13 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)
11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
The one that the Holy Ghost Blesses.
