Is it not strange for someone to block people from answering a question raised by herself /himself ?

some people are seen blocking some otehrs from answering some questions raised by himself/ herslef in a public forum like ths .?why should the person raise any question in public if he /she does not want people whoi differ from her in thier views ? does she/ he want all people just to dance to her tunes and not to have any independent views or accept all tthe views that he /she holds about anything ?Or is iot the sheer display of arroigance that she / he is alone right in the entire world ? People who lack humility and tolerance and the mind to digest the truth seem to be prowling in the religion and spirituality section with high pretensions to the Hindu religion.Those who do not want all people to answer their questions should be barred from raising questions in public forums .They can write to individuals of thier choice if need be through the yahoo mail itself . The managers of the Q^a sit4e should consider this point .

Yes it is strange.. I've been blocked from answering some peoples questions. I find it also strange when people make their Q and A's private... I usually assume people who do this to be trolls.

Would I be correct in believing that a truly libelous statement on this or any other forum could be the subject of litigation. If so then Yahoo might well be serving a questioner's interests by blocking them and doing the same to any libelous answers. As to blocking other people there does appear to be a hard core of answerers intent only on spoiling and nothing else.

It's only strange if the question is specifically *addressed* to the person being blocked---like asking "why is XYZ being such a twit?" when XYZ is on your block list.

Even then, it's more hilariously snarky than strange, lol.

I block known trolls and people who go off-topic to fundythump, or who can't wait to ring in on non-xian questions to tell us we're all going "stuh-rait to huh-ail!"

That this is an open forum with a feature specifically for that purpose means NO, actually, I *don't* have to suffer fools gladly. Or even ungladly, on my own questions.

There is a gang of people in this forum who are driven by xenophobia and jingoistic feelings. They have no feelings for fellow human beings, instead abuse people who are born by destiny in other religions. Most of the times I find these people from among the Hindus. Without understanding the philosophy of Hinduism, they start boasting off, as if they are incarnated to defend Hinduism for all its ills. And instead of praising Hinduism for its real worth, they find solace in hurting the sentiments of those born and brought up to other religions.

These are the people who applaud each other and award best answers within their clan. You do it for me and I will do it for you, is the basis on which these people thrive. They actually are the people who are menace to the development of a healthy and good society of international aspirants.

Yahoo managers don't do any thing to check the evil designs of these people, simply because they are not concerned. They are counting numbers to their burgeoning membership, and quality has got no meaning to them.

Yes Sir, I fully agree with you. I put forward one very important critical question based upon thorough personal observations , unknown to most Indians but some extrajingoistic extremists got it deleted b coz they cannot bear naked realities. Such fascists of Sangh Parivar mentality are in large number who at one side talk of democracy , openness & freedom of expression & on the other side want to snatch away others the chance of presenting purely logical & scientific analysis on other side of the picture. For them there is no room for counter view. They think one sided & want others to only suppport them blindly without any logic & reasoning. This is so b coz they cannot have enough facts & figures to justify their view , cannot have convincing power & cannot withstand grave reality. They talk only in the air , without any knowledge at all & without any resposibility of an educated person but the world cannot support such people. They never like truth , honesty & justice( the basic quality of a true educated good human being) at all rather want their wiew only be accepted. Such dirtiest gangsters have more than five six proxy memberships in this forum at different names , addresses & biodata & vote for their own answers or get the same voted by their local chamchaas of the gangs to become hero on Yahoo Answers, it has been detected by hackers, particularly on 'Marriage & Divorce' subject by few small town men of 420 profession of fooling people to earn their living & show their customers their performance on Yahoo Answers , as detected recently.

I have blocked one person cuz when I ask a series question or legit question they always are very rude,they were even e-mailing me nasty stuff so I had to block them,I don't want to have to do that but I had no choice.Its sad that some people have to do that.

Yahoo! Answers have given this option, to the users, which is not correct. They should consider revising their guidelines in this regards, immediately.

Now, I believe yesterday, an User abused me like anything with all filthy abusive words available on this earth by posting nearly 20 questions. Unfortunately the user had made her Q & A page private and I was unable to see the questions. In the meantime, some of my friends/contacts told me immediately the contents. Since the allegations were of very serious nature, without seeing the actual questions of that user I had to post a question vide the following link. I feel the user himself/herself is not brave enough, and asked and abused me standing behind the screen.

ofcourse Yes, it is a strange! some peoples blocked me also to answering their questions. It is also strange when people choose their personal opinions. They are not thinking about the whole!

Hmmm you have made some very interesting points and raised some very good questions. I must say I agree with you, people who do this do it because they are so close minded and on top of it all they should not be allowed to!
