I have been doing a lot of research on atheists and other world views because I am seriously trying to pick my life view. I am open to anything, but researching all religion, life views and thoughts. I have noticed on the message boards and question boards that atheists tend to be very rude and mean to others with another view, why is this?

you have to understand that everyone wants you to agree w/them, which is why they may appear rude and mean. connect to God for yourself and see Him for who He is...God of mercy, peace, grace, love, and so much more. Praise Him.

Not being an atheist, it may be difficult for me to see the point of view needed. But I am going to try to view this from that point of view.

Could it be that atheists think that those who believe in God are stupid? Maybe atheists see the finality of their being with the physical death? The Universe is a cold and lonely place without a Creator? Could the atheist be angry that so much time, money, energy and the like are seen as wasted on mythology? Maybe the atheist is angry that churches are tax-exempt, and yet have many of the facets of a business. They have land holdings, belong to the Chamber of Commerce, pay employees a salary, but are classified as non-profit organizations.

And then, maybe atheists just don't like themselves.

You do understand that atheism has been discouraged and regarded down on for hundreds of years. the final holy books even say we are without awareness and we are no greater desirable than beasts of the self-discipline. some even say we can could be killed. Atheists have had their households/properties and lives ripped away in basic terms because of the fact that we don't think in god/gods. In seven US states atheists can no longer via ability of regulation preserve a public place of enterprise. the internet provides us the possibility to voice our critiques and anger without could agonize approximately our condominium' being burned down on top human beings. Am I indignant ? You greater useful think it sparky.

Because most of what they want to do is TEAR DOWN faith.

A believer may be critical of peoples beliefs but it is out of love and Biblical mandate that we do so and share the Gospel.

But Ive never witnessed an atheist that was lovingly try to talk people out of Christianity because they had a truth that could replace it that would ultimately be better for the person. Never do I sense that type of love or urgency in their message. Its just hate speech pure and simple. They hate the church. They hate Gods authority. They hate Gods soverignty. And they especially hate Gods people and dont mind telling you so on their keyboard. (face to face I notice they dont have the guts to spew what they do on here)

Unfortunately, many people are against atheism simple because we don't believe in a God and people love to pick on those who are Godless, which is very Christ-like, might I add. There are many, many atheists who are kind, caring, and open to other people's opinions, but you never notice them, because half the time, they never announce themselves as an atheist. Once I tell someone I'm an atheist, it's as if I lose most of my credibility. Many Christians would rather listen to a Satanist than an atheist because at least they "have a God". It's almost ridiculous.

The "abundance" of atheists who are rude, are only a few in the barrel of apples known as atheism. Those few bad apples make the rest of us look bad because they make themselves prevalent by showing off that they're an atheist and antagonizing Christianity. It's like racists - not that many people are racist, but the ones who're obnoxious and prevalent about it, make it seem like there's many, many more racist people.

We're not bad people. There are some Christians who are just as bad as some of these atheists, let us not forget.

I think it's because it's very frustrating to not be able to grasp the concept of faith in God. Not all Atheists are rude, though. I've come across some very nice people who are Atheists. But then there are some who have to be condescending and rude because they don't understand God. I just pray that God will help them. God bless!

Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
There can only be one truth - not many truths.
Read the Bible - a personal love letter from God to you.
Jhn 8:32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

God bless you.

As with all of humanity, there are some wonderful, kind people of all beliefs. Don't take what you see on the internet as neccessarily representative of any particular belief system. The internet tends to appeal to extremists of all brands.

My bet is the atheists on here would never vocalize their beliefs in such a way if you were face to face with them. Everyone's much braver when they're sitting in front of a computer screen. Don't take any message boards or forums (especially this one) as a true representation of a group whether it be atheist, christian, whatever. Half the people on here from both sides are only here to start trouble.

I have notice that my self, I have asked that and got some of the rudest answers you can imagine. "cant run with the big dogs etc" Its like "I don't believe it, and I am so much smarter than you, that my job is to show you how stupid you are for beliving." I think a lot of this has to do with in the back of their mind (of course they will deny it) but any way in the back of their mind, they know there is a God. think of it like this, I don't believe in the tooth-fairy, I do not spend one minute of my time trying to convince anyone that there is not a tooth-fairy. That's up to them. Why in the world they spend so much time and energy fighting something they don't believe in is beyond me. good luck in your search. I hope you decide to follow Christ. I love him, I trust him, he is my all and all. God bless.

We are generally up front and very logical, and people sometimes mistake this for being rude smart alecks. Also we will challenge what we are told, and some people who are not used to challenging and questioning things will consider us rude for doing so.

for example, right now I am wondering why you are picking a life view instead of living your life and forming your view as you go along. your life view may change as your life progresses.
