I have four cats. Two of which were mine and the other two which are Devon Rexes, came with my financee when he moved in this past January. All four cats seem to get along fine now. The cats range in age from my neutered black and white male who is 3, my spayed female calico who is 2 and my finacees two spayed female Devon's that are sisters and are 3 years old. The Devon's have started walking on me and meowing in the middle of the night while I am trying to sleep. I'm at a loss what to do. If I pen them, as well as the other cats, out of the bedroom they paw and cry a the bedroom door. The Devon's do play with each other and the other two cats in the house. They started doing this a few weeks ago while my financee was at work. He works third shift. Now they do it even on nights he has off and is home with me. They have an autofeeder that is full of dry food, a cat water foutain and get canned food every morning.

All the cats get lots of petting and attention and played with. They also have a room of their own with a cat tree and shelves to climb on.

cats get played with daily and get plenty of petting time. They are all well loved. It is only the financee's two cats that cause problems at night. and mainly just the one of those is the biggest pest. It starts after I've gone to sleep. In the middle of the night. Not as I am going to bed.

Put them in their room at night.I foster a great deal and the deal in this house is that the 'momma' gets her sleep or you get out. Can't behave yourself you go to the other room.

My cats did the same, but now with a baby on the way, we don't let them in the room. They cried their little hearts out the first month or so but eventually got over it. They find new places to sleep. Getting them some special beds for each might help. I would suggest opening the door when they cry and squirt them in the face. They learn to not get by the door pretty quickly after that. They do however still need all the lovin' they can get, so be sure to play with and pet them as much as possible.

It sounds like you've been "adopted". That's a good thing! Since you're at home, when the fiance is at work, the "girls" have decided you're the one that does the loving, so they just want some extra. Instead of being upset with them, just make a spot for them (under the cover?) and let them sleep with you. My bed has sometimes been covered w/cats, and I wake up almost falling off of the bed! It's funny how pet owners will move over, so their animals can be comfortable, isn't it? Good luck. This new attitude may wear off eventually.

I agree with Brutusmom. She has a really good point. My male cat does all that all the time. I just lay him down beside me and pet the crap outta him til I fall asleep. when I wake up the next day he's either in the front room playing with his toys or still in bed with me and meows for more attention. They are probably just letting you know that they love ya.

They probably want to play. Before you go to bed make sure you play with them all. ♦
