Wow what an outpour of opinions.. Thanx ppls appreciate it, although the ignorant ones that say all pitts should be extinct can take a hike along with you're little lapdogs. I think I'll stick with the name snoopy and when he gets older change it to snoop.

Its not a stupid name. I think its cute when you have funny names for dogs that have a reputation for being rough.

Snoopy is a great name for any dog. I have a Pit that my grandson named Honey. And she is. Also have a Pit puppy that my grandson named Lilly. They sound like killers don't they.
I have a Beagle named Snoopy that I always call Snoop.
My grandson also named the little 20 lb Chi/Terrier mix Bear. It sorta fits as he is top dog. He rules over the two and the Pit is 55 lbs.

Haha (I love the part about guys dont answer this question... i could imagine the responses)

BUT, coming from a girl who loves pups.. i think snoopy is adorable for a pittbull!! It's really funny because pittbulls are always seen as little tough guys and snoopy will totally play up the cute part of the dog...

Very cute!! Do it! :)

Pitts usually look a little too tough for "Snoopy" but it's your dog, so name it what you like. I wouldn't say for a second that it's a bad name, but perhaps not the most encompassing.
I actually know a guy who named his pitt Snoopy because the colors and EVERYONE calls him Snoop

Pitbulls have such a bad rep for viciousness that maybe a name like Snoopy would be good. Sounds less threatening than Rambo.

personally, I don't like Snoopy for any dogs name...but that's just MPO.

I like to try to find names that fit their personalities..or some physical trait.

Ultimately, I don't like Snoopy as a cute name for a pit bull.. go with a more floofy name.. like ones people use for poodles..if that's what you're going for... maybe something like Dipsy, or Daisy, or Fluffy..

aww that's a cute name !! pitbulls are usually cut out to be rough, big boned dogs and are usually named t-bone, frank, or something like that and snoopy is a very refreshing name change.

i think it is ok. look at it this way at least u arent naming it like killer or something that will make people believe the dog is aggressive. i think it makes the dog more gentle. when i got my dog i noticed he was kind of rough and loved to run around and knock u off ur feet. so i named him sammy. it is a sweet name. and people think that a dog with a sweet name is a sweet dog. so it helps people see good in the breed
