Ask yourself this-
do you have a crucifix or a cross over your bed?
Catholics tend to pray before a Crucifix, whereas Christians use crosses. When asked your religion, do you say Christian or Catholic?

Non-Catholics are sometimes referred to as Catholic-lite. There is a difference . Although we all follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, and would be considered members of the church, we worship in different ways. The Catholic church tends to be the most rigid, which is why our membership has been steadily declining.
For example, Catholic Priests cannot be married, abortion is a sin, same sex marriages are not recognized by the Church, etc. Other religions may not have these restrictions.
Also, we follow the Pope in the Vatican. I'm not quite sure who other Christians follow.
Lastly, I only bless myself when I pass by a Catholic Church. No apologies.

Such is quite the mislead statement. While not all Christians are Catholic, all Catholics are Christians. Therefore, if someone claims themself to be Catholic but not Christian, I would question their understanding of Catholic Christianity as well as non-Catholic Christianity.

Persons who believe in Christ, including Catholics, are by definition - Christians.

If someone seriously said that to you, they may have meant that they were not fundamentalist or evangelical or Protestant.

Although Catholics may range from fairly liberal to fairly conservative in their religious beliefs, all are Christians.

The Catholic Church is very specific about dogma - what they believe is Christ's message, - but there remains a wide variety of interpretation, even among Catholic theologians, on how an individual might decide to act in circumstances that are unclear.

Generally speaking, beliefs in mainstream Catholic and Protestant churches are fairly close. Fundamentalist sects interpret scripture much more literally.

Catholicism is a denomination within Christianity. I am a Roman Catholic, and am therefore, by definition, a Christian. But it's quite common for many Christians, when asked their religion, to respond with their denomination instead, particularly in a predominantly Christian area in which it's often assumed that they're going to be a Christian of some description. So when asked, they'll respond by saying "Baptist", "Nazarene", "Presbyterian" or "Catholic" instead of merely saying "Christian", so that people will understand what particular type of Christian they are.

It means they are smoking something. If you are Catholic that means you are a Christian because being Catholic is religion.

Although I have never heard a Catholic say this, it would probably mean that they were a rather ignorant Catholic Christian.

With love in Christ.

I am Catholic and have NEVER witnessed that or even been told that any Catholic ever thought that.

I am sure you will get an enlightened answer from the anti-Catholic crowd.

Peace be with you!
