i wanna lose a few lbs., so what is the least amount of calories that an 18 yr old girl should consume each day? like i heard that if you consume too less, your body will conserve the food and you may gain some weight...also, i heard that not getting enough calories will mess up your metabolism...so, what is the lowest amount of calories? thanks!

it depends on your height. anyway, never eat less than 1200 calories. metabolism is a thin line that u must be careful not to cut! too much eating and it goes down. but if u eat under 800 calories it has the same effect! so it is tricky. and the trick is that u must exercise during diet. sorry if u don't like gym but try other ways like walking, running, take the dog for a walk etc. that is the 'magic' way to keep your shape and keep your metabolism high enough to burn the calories u eat.

Depends on your activity level, but NEVER go less than 1500 calories without speaking to your doctor first.
