know this: the ancient schools of real teaching have not been lost forever. They have, all of them, been re-born in many ways and methods. Open your eyes and look....they are all here for you to see. But first you must examine many things before the realization sets in. But know that not all the real teachings lay only in one body....they exist in many.

It was easier to make them up in the past. But now we can study these things/people who claim they are prophets and messiahs and give them the appropriate care.

maybe people who had visions and thought they were talking to God, etc who were heralded as prophets and messiahs in ancient times, are just people who these days are called nutters and crazy people, and are all locked up in Mental institutions or standing on street corners with signs round their necks saying "The End is Nigh"

New prophets and messiahs have demonstrated that they are frauds and the old guys were just lucky to have lived in a more credulous societal framework.

You expect some from the future?

But seriously... Why didn't they predict something useful? You know? Like the tsunami that hit Indonesia? That someone would try to shoot a Pope? Just something to establish their credibility.

Just what was this ancient teaching?

In Islam we believe Prophet Muhammad is the last of the many prophets God sent to give warnings because there is a verse in the Quran describing prophet Muhammad as the "seal of prophets."

However, we believe in the emergence of Gag and Magog, and the "anti-Christ." We also believe that Jesus(prophet Isa)would come back to earth (as we don't believe he died, we believe the gardner or someone who looked like him was crucified by mistake and God took him to Heaven) to kill the "anti-Christ" and would live for 40 years on earth before dying.

Is someone with the gift of prophecy not a prophet?

They exist, but no-one listens to them. People just lump them together with the "end is nigh" nutters and ignore them.

God sends prophets as they are needed and there are two great witness's which are yet to come. There is only one Messiah and he is Jesus Christ and has come and will return.
