I had an extraction done on Wednesday and today (Monday) it looks and feels as though its completely healed. How is this possible when I heard that the mouth carries the most bacteria of any other place in the body?

HELLO,
THE FIRST ANSWER IS NOT CORRECT, THE SECOND ONE IS RIGHT ON THE MONEY.
THE TISSUES IN THE MOUTH HAVE A FAST TURNOVER RATE. WHAT THIS MEANS IS A FAST HEALING RATE.
YOU ARE ALSO CORRECT THAT THERE ARE MORE BACTERIA IN YOUR MOUTH THAN IN OTHER PLACES OF THE BODY, BUT WON'T FORGET THAT THE IMMUNE SYSTEM IN THE BODY WHICH HAS SPECIAL ANTI-BACTERIAL CELLS CALLED ANTIBODIES, WILL FIGHT ANY INFECTION BEFORE IT CAUSES PROBLEMS.
THIS COMBINED WITH AN ATRAUMATIC EXTRACTION TECHNIQUE BY YOUR DENTIST ALL GIVES YOU QUICK HEALING RESULTS.
**YES, THE BODY IS A WONDERFUL, SELF-HEALING MACHINE.**

B/c of the constant trauma from eating/etc. Oral tissue regrows/heals much faster than everything else.
