The only way to stop a toothache is to have the tooth extracted or to have a root canal done. Before you have any treatment done you will need to be put on antibiotics so the infection will clear up because sometimes the infection can cause you not to be able to get numb. You should really have that taken care of because it is not good for your body to have an infection like that. Good luck and I hope that you feel better soon.

I am a fan of clove oil. Yes, it is nasty tasting, but it numbs the pain. I have had SEVERE pain from teeth.

You could also swoosh cold water around your infected tooth.

You could also set a tea bag on the infected tooth for a while. Again, it tastes nasty, but works.

Swooshing warm salt water, (again, nasty) also helps ease the pain.

Cold compresses on the outside of your face are good to numb the area.

I am not going to tell you to go to the dentist, that is common sense. Obviously you can't get to the dentist right now, which is why you are on here looking for help.

All these are only temporary, of course, and not promised to work. What works for me, may not work for you. I hope you start feeling better soon.

I too have been dealing with a pretty severe toothache for about 3 days now. Can't get to the dentist til Wednesday...
:(

BEST WISHES

Oh yea, take a pain reliever. Not the best help, but may help some. I like Tylenol 8 hour, and I love Tylenol PM. The PM really helps you sleep if you need assistance there!!!

Anbesol has worked for me. Also clove oil, but I don't like the taste. Then a trip to the dentist may be in order - usually when it gets to the point of a toothache, it's a little more serious.

Get some abesol and take to Advil. If that doesn't work you need to go to the dentist because you could have an infection.

I like that your answers are anbesol, but you could also use oil of clove: carefully so as not to create a tissue burn. And get to a dentist right away.

take anbesol & pain killers, if you're in pain the next day go to your dentist a.s.a.p. you might have an infection & your tooth needs to be pulled if the tooth cannot be saved.
