Unfortunately smoking is no longer allowed - I appreciate the ban however the airports should have provided enclosed spaces indoors and also past security. Even in the US and Canada despite strong anti-smoking laws a enclosed room which is not serviced until the airport closes is provided - surely this could be replicated in America.

Yes! All UK Airports have had to remove those areas. As a smoker myself, I am actually glad it's happened as I will now be more encouraged to go outside and smoke. Those smoking areas were dirty, filthy and smelly and not from the smoke. I'm sure they never cleaned them! Now, I am more likely to get some clean air in my lungs as I fill up with the contaminated smoke LOL Finally, I can see another problem arising. I can guarantee that there will be loads of complaints regarding people smoking (outside) near the entrance doors. The next stage will be a total ban anywhere on the airport but I will still buy my Duty Free cigs on the plane.
