I do not understand why so many people are having problems with Vista. I am running it on a computer that I built a few years ago and it works way better then XP. I find it to be more secure, and way more stable then XP every was. And as far as drivers go, I have had "NO" problems. There was one very old piece of software that it wouldn't run, but that software didn't run on XP very well either.

If you are having problems with some of Vista's security apps, just turn them off.

Vista is a very good OS and will probably get allot better when the first service pack is released.

XP will soon be going away, so learn to run Vista or go over to linux

Vista is a great answer to a question that has not been asked.

As in previous releases MS have tried to promote certain aspects of the system as the "killer ap", and as in previous releases, it seems they have it completely wrong. Remember active desktop in w98, which tried to pipe continuous data to your desktop. Only problem was most machines were on dial up, and this managed to take up all of the bandwidth!

New feature is Aero, which is so resource hungry that almost everyone switches it off. Even those with super spec PC's are turning it off, as they resent having their benchmark scores reduced for something which is, in the end, just eye candy.

DirectX 10 on the other hand will make a huge difference to those games that take advantage of what it has to offer, but realistically how many will that be? Given some of the shoddy work that is produced already using the perfectly adequate dX9 there is no reason to suppose that the programmers are suddenly going to improve.

I even have been making use of the two xp media centre 2005 and vista in basic terms right 32bit... i desire XP...it runs swifter than in basic terms right...all my application & hardware works completely on xp and it incredibly is less difficult to configure than vista is somewhat in case you have a community....vista is annoying on RAM and cpu ability you would be wanting a competent pc for it...Vista is in basic terms too overpriced for what you rather get. on the top of the day vista is in basic terms incredibly a team of fancy pictures... readyboost doesnt make lots of a distinction in case you have 2gb of ram or greater (and you opt for 2gb of ram or greater to run it decently) my wager is wait a three hundred and sixty 5 days or so.

You have to hack it to enjoy it, I have a great tutorial for hacking the crap out of vista to tweak the hell out of it.
