Only if they don't cook for you out of laziness and excuses and no consideration for your time and effort. I cook during the weekdays since my husband is at work (I work at home for my jobs). And I love cooking and he likes my food. I may be retired, but I still love cooking! But on the weekends, it's all him in the kitchen. We work together really well in this small kitchen.

So if the relationship is otherwise fun and stable and you like cooking, go with it. If they're a lazy bum who orders you to cook after a long day at work, then there's a problem.

I cook for my boyfriend all the time...and to tell you the truth, I would rather cook for him then have him cook because, seriously, if he did it by himself he would make hamburger helper or mac n cheese or something like that...

We do cook together a lot though too and we both have a blast...we find a good recipe in a cookbook or online...we do it at least twice a week...he's getting a lot better at cooking and he and I will give him credit because he does make me some awesome spaghetti every now and then 'cause it's my favorite!!

I've been having a friend over for dinner several times a year for 10 years or so - and never been invited to her house for dinner.
And that's fine with me. I enjoy cooking, and I enjoy the company when we dine. We've become the best of friends and have fond memories.
I don't think that's messed up at all. Her return gift is her presence at my table - throughout marriages and kids, good times and bad; whether I can afford to make a sandwich or a 5 course gourmet meal.

I don't think so. My boyfriend enjoys cooking more than I do, so he cooks 99% of the time. When I do cook his favorite dish (which tastes decent btw) he appreciates it so much because he knows I did it just to make him happy.

Are you cooking for someone because you want to? or because you want something in return? Yes it is messed up when people do not show us the love and care we show to them...

Does the person you cook for at least take you out for a meal at a restaurant or order take out when it's their turn?
My first husband was a dreadful cook. I dreaded when it was his turn to cook. I tried to help him improve, but he was closeminded and/or too stupid to learn. He finally left me for a little suzy homemaker who was willing to wait on his lazy butt 24/7.
If the person you cook for who rarely cooks for you if a *GOOD* cook, why not ask them outright to cook for you more often? If they aren't a good cook, count your blessings.
Best wishes.

If they arent cooking for you, are they showing their appreciation in other ways? Are you cookin because you want to, or because you're asked to?

If you having fun with it, and doing it because you like it... why are you worried about someone cooking for you? Maybe this person doesnt like to cook.

Not according to my fiance. He absolutely loves to cook for me and loves to bbq for me. He actually prefers to do the cooking. I, am not an experienced cook on any level, although he has really loved anything that I have made for him. But, we are very compatable on this as well as everything else!

It depends on who the person is- If it is your mate, then no. I would just make them pay when we went out to dinner to make up for it!
