Yes, there is an OTC medicine called Diurex that you can purchase from your local drug store.
Not to be rude but tack2900 is incorrect. There are many reasons why a Diuretic would be used. They are not just used to treat Congestive Heart Failure.
As has been stated however if you are going to use them for weight loss please be aware that there are risks and at the most you'd only lose a few pounds.
If there are other reasons such as high blood pressure and or bloating and swelling it's recommended that you speak to a physician.
Whatever you decide to try please be safe and follow all manufacturer's directions.
Good luck

I will warn you that I am a med. tech. and the expirtion dates on medication are there for a reason. Maybe a couple days after the expiration is okay to use, but a while after the expiration the chemical components of the medication can actually break down and not work at all - so depending on the importance of the medication, it's definatly something to think about. Some things like band-aids have expiration dates - I pretty much am convinced that this is a ploy to get us to buy more from the companies. On the food topic - the only one I am sure of is milk. I have asked people from the manufacturing/bottling plant of milk and they say that the date on the milk is the sell by date and that milki is actually good for about a week after that date as long as it maintains it's refrigerated state. For foods in my own home - if it's items that are non-parishable (rices, etc.) then I usually go by the rule of thumb that if it's not opened and it smells okay when I open it I use it, but if in doubt, I throw it out!

Why do you want diuretics? Do you have CHF? That would be about the only reason for a diuretic. They don't work for weight loss if that's what you're wondering. Caffeine is an over the counter diuretic, but it's also a stimulant - which is hard on the nervous system, and the cardiovascular system.
