I started to feed my 3 wk old kitten wet cat food yesterday. She ate an entire 1/4 of a can. She's seemed a little bloated. Her belly is big and pudgy. Is it normal? She hasn't pooed scince then although I've tried to get her to!

Any advice?

She's an orphan kitten. And most sites say she can eat it at about 4 wks. She loves the wet food!!!

you might want to wait a little longer to give her any more wet food. kittens that young shouldn't be given that. they should still be drinking their mother's milk!! if it doesn't have a mom, you can buy special cat's milk at your grocery store. they come in little cartons, and they're only like $2 or $3. i would wait maybe another week to be feeding her actual food.

I've never heard of a 3 week old kitten eating solid food. Are you sure she's not older. In either case, it sounds like she ate way too much. Kittens that young have to eat really small meals several times a day.

You should not be feeding a kitten that young solid food. Their bellies can't digest that and she may end up with diarreah. Powdered milk for kittens from the vet or the grocery only. Call your vet if you need help.

Seems pretty normal. What you might want to do the next time is to ration the food for her. It will work out well.

that is far to early for a kitten to be fed cat food ,it should still be on its mothers milk or a substitute
