Leftist charlatans like Al Gore are using global warming as an issue to beat up on capitalism, and all the liberals eat up his pablum.
I do think the extra CO2 in the atmosphere is raising earth' s temperature, but we need to do more research to figure out what to do about it. The lefty cultists turn it into a doomsday issue.
Good capitalists reduce costs by conserving, and that is what they should be doing. When energy is cheap, it is cheap to use more of it. When it gets expensive, use less. The externalities aren't added into the equation, though, making it seem cheaper than it really is after considering side effects.

It isn't really a question of belief, it's a question of opposition. There are people who believe the earth is flat, or that the moon landing was a hoax, and other similar ideas. They present no problem to anyone but themselves. But if they go to the Astronomy section and start posting their "ideas" there, they do become a problem, especially if they tag them onto every other post, regardless of subject matter. It isn't so much that people seeking an answer to a question are likely to be misled (although it could happen). It's just that after reading a few of those, folks they're going to think "These people are just a bunch of ninnies" and move on. That's sad, as I know there are some very knowledgeable people in that section, just as there are here. That's why it's important to stand up to these folks, no matter what tactics they stoop to. It gets a bit tedious, as the flat earthy people have more variety in there posts, and more interesting ideas to support their equally improbable thesis.

Hey, do what ever feels good. Just let me live my life as I choose. I don't want to be forced to live my life where someone made up the data to fit their conclusions.
Like the "peer reviewed" "hockey stick" that would create a hockey stick with random numbers, or cartoon polar bears running around in Algores movie because he couldn't find polar bears in distress or any melting ice caps.

i am all for conserving energy. why don't more people car pool? why is it so expensive to convert to more environmentally friendly things. like solar power, why is it so expensive? if they made it cheaper more people could afford to do it and save everyone except the power companies.

To the Jello guy: people have found polar bears, or rather floating carcasses, in the polar regions, because they have had to swim such long distances. So, don't make up your little bullshit excuses; don't lie, it is unbecoming.
