I had a dream in which I saw a medium sized (about 3 feet long) snake. Snakes are usually "fear" dreams for me but this one was unusual because the snake didn't threaten me. It was brown and colored much like a rattlesnake, but it's head was smaller and completely white, just as if it had been dipped in paint. Anybody read something into this? Thanks for the help!

Many will say snake symbolizes sex. However, it could be more than that.

white = perfection, attention seeking

In your case, this snake in your dream could symbolize some fear in you. However, this fear is a hidden fear. You didn't get scared because this snake is with the white head and that symbolizes something you are seeking for. It could be some recognition in some sort. In other words, you may be encountering something in life that you feel fear about, but deep down,if you over come this, and you will turn fear into some pride. In translation, it could mean this white head is an obstacle to your fear. It could be anything from job, school, family, relationship. You subconsciously are telling you that things will get better once you overcome this fear.

You are the only one that can unravel that dream. What does a snake mean to you? Is it something to be afraid of? Or is it a symbol of healing (such as the two entwined snakes on the Caduceus)? As for white -- in some cultures, it is the colour of death (especially in Asia), while some cultures/religions see it as the colour of purity. What does white mean to you? Does it symbolise death (as in "going into the light") or maybe something else. For instance, what's the first thing that leaps into your mind when you think of white? Is it snow? Maybe marshmallows? Or is it a fluffy white kitten (ie cute)? You need to write down the main elements of your dream, and work out what the symbols mean to YOU. I can only tell you what the symbols mean to me... and that could be something very different to your interpretation. For example, I see snakes as a symbol of wisdom -- hence their symbology on the Caduceus (a gift from Apollo). But there are plenty of people who see the snake as evil because of the Bible. So you'll need to unravel this mystery. I can only guide you.

Yeah, snakes represent deception which are waiting to overtake you. Brown is the color that is usually associated with worldliness and over indulgence in fleshly things. The reason the snake had a white head is because white represents innocence, purity, and holiness. There is something which is trying to deceive you which has an appearance of purity, but it has a package which leads to immorality.
