My company handles claims for insurance companies against uninsured parties in WI. I deal with WI judgments all the time.

If you are revoked in one state you are revoked in all states. No way to get around that.

If you haven't already done you need to check to see if the judgment is still valid. The original judgment is valid for 20 years unless the judgment holder renews the judgment it should expire on the 20 yr anniversary. Then you should be able to get your DL back.

If the judgment is still valid then you have two options to get your DL back.

1. Settle the judgment with the other side with a compromised lump sum offer. If the judgment is as old as you say it is the other side should be thrilled to get any money out of you at this time. I have settled dozens of old judgments for the original amount plus a small of amount of interest. These things are always negotiable unless the lawyer who sued you is a royal dickweed.

2. Check with the with WI DOT to see if you can enter into a monthly payment with the other side. A notarized payment agreement can get your DL back on the condition that you make your monthly payments. You will need to contact the main WI DOT office in Madison at 608-266-1249.

Good Luck

It's the computer age. Should you move and apply for a license, you will be asked if you have ever had a license in another State. You will sign that all info you provided is true. Your info will go into the database and you will be caught. Even if you got a license, when you apply for insurance, the info will come up.

It's good that you have no problem moving, but you will have a problem getting a driver's license in another state. All states have access to your revocation info.
