It kind of depends on what you're giving them. See if you can wrap it to coordinate with what you're giving them. Like, if you're giving them something for their honeymoon, you could wrap the package to look like an old fashioned suitcase (brown paper, dark brown ribbon to make leather straps, stickers to re-create the stamps from different countries, and a mini-passport as the gift tag!)
Or you can print pictures of the two of them together and paste them onto plain white wrapping paper to make custom photo-wrapping paper.
Otherwise, the craft stores sell a ton of pretty specialty papers that can make lovely additions.

I have seen people decorate a package themselves. I don't know if you can draw or not but you could get some white paper and then use some scrapbooking things like stamps and cute stickers and sayings. The local Dollar General where I live has all kinds of cute Bridal stickers. You could include the marriage date. At the top you could put a miniture bride and groom on the package along with some ribbons. Good idea. Something that stands out. I like it!! Have fun!!

You can use wedding inspired wrapping paper: http://www.superiorgiftwrap.com/store/wedding_giftwrap.html
Or you can use paper that matches the theme. Using different paper objects is nice too. Is the couple making an wedding announcement in the news paper? If so, collect a bunch of the newspaper announcement, cut them out and glue it (with clear glue) to a box bigger than the gift you're buying. Try to get a box where the top lifts off. Tie it with a big bow, maybe add some flowers and it's ready to go!

This is simple for a DIY and always looks stunning. Get brown paper similar to brown bags they use at the grocery store. Wrap the box/package in this paper, then tie the package with twine. Tie it just the way you would a Holiday gift with a bow around it. Then take a single fresh flower and place it on the package in between the pieces of twine. This is a beautiful, fresh, alive look.

something i've done a few times, not only for weddings, is to get a wicker or rattan basket, preferably with a lid which fits, and put the gift, whatever it is, in the basket. fasten the lid, and then decorate with silk flowers, faux fruits, things like that. it has a rustic touch, which can go with an autumn theme, and the basket is reusable (i'm all in favor of useful wrappings), almost like an additional gift.

Wrap the gift in plain paper. Decoupage (don't know that I spelled that right) pictures of the couple all over it. You would need to scan or use digital pictures, and pring or copy them to plain paper (not photo paper). Or you could use snippets of love poems or music sheets of love songs, or a combination of all of it.

I don't know if you want to give them towels, but I was at my sister's shower and someone gave her a set of towels, but she wrapped them around 3 rolls of toliet paper and stacked them to make them look like a wedding cake. Then she put flowers and a bow on top...oh it was sooo cute! And very creative.

It's always super cute (and nice) when people buy a towel off you registry too and wrap the gift in that. :) A wrapping you can wrap yourself in later. Good luck!

i think of it may be hard to make a paddle look like something different than a paddle. in case you have time you may circulate to a craft keep and purchase 2 minature paddles (dollhouse length) and wrap them, cover the genuine ones till finally the minatures are open!
