I just answered a question asking why is Satan blamed for every thing that goes bad- and I answered Satan entices us however it is our own fault when we fall into sin. I really don't care that I get thumbs down- however it never ceases to amaze me that the word sin, gets people "riled" up- could that possibly be that people do not want to admit that they sin? I think so. Only serious answers please, or my theory will be proven right

for the pagan- I am very serious here, so please do not say I am judging you- I want to know your thinking on this- why do you not believe in sin? You just said, you want to do what is good instead of bad- why can't you call what is bad, sin?

Hogie- of course I know that Christians are dead to sin- however that does not mean that we will never sin again- or 1 John 1:9 would not be needed in the Bible- the book is written to believers. And you are right about the passage of scripture that tells us we are enticed by our own sinful nature too- however Satan does tempt us- it is all throughout scripture- even Satan tempted Jesus- however He did not fall

when I talk about sin- I have the first one to say I am a sinner- however because of Christ, I am forgiven- and I pray that I live my life to please Him- I know what is sin, because the holy spirit convicts me- NO- I am not pointing fingers at all.

Well, I don't blame satan for the consequences of our own actions. We must put the blame where it belongs - on ourselves.
However, the reason people don't like you talking about sin is because we have all sinned, and (in the words of Jesus), "People love darkness rather than light, because their deeds are evil." etc.
People want to think they are good enough without the aid of a Savior to intervene on their behalf. This is "the pride of life" to cover up "the lust of the flesh" and "the lust of the eyes."

Sin is plural and refers to our nature. Even if you do not commit, "sins", which is incorrect English, because sin is plural, you still have and are born with a nature of sin.
You can be the best guy in the world, but unless you have been born into the spirit you will die in the flesh and in sin.
Buddha, Mohamed, Joseph Smith etc... are great examples good people born with a sinful nature.
Jesus, on the other hand, was born of a virgin, conceived by the holy spirit, risen from the dead, ascended and sits at the right hand of God as the second person of the Godhead, and in him was no sin. This is why he alone is Savior, And will return.

The Greek definition of sin means "to miss the mark". It is a good definition as many of us miss the mark, like trying to hit a bulls eye we miss more than we hit the target. But having a target is a great mark to go for.
In the Indian culture you have Karma and Dar ma
Karma is what come when you don't resist temptation. You get the short term gain with long term pain to follow. Dar ma
is resisting temptation it is which in the immediate time feels sad or painful but the long term effects is multiplied goodness that comes in abundance for resisting temptation.
No one can scientifically prove Satan exist or God exist however faith is the bridge to the belief. Faith is not scientific is is merely believing in something even if common sense dictates not too or that is it not reasonable.
Disciplining oneself to set a course upon which to live is necessary but so often left incomplete. Part of doing homework in school is disciplining yourself to just do it- get it done. Set the course for success. In spiritual life that is true also. Set your course, you are certain to be tempted if you give in you will get all that comes with your lack of discipline. If you resist you get all that come with your ability to hold back and stay on your course.
Be not concerned at what others think about sin only see your target and head in that direction. And when your tempted
choose wisely.

Well since so many people see Christians as judgmental people, they might think when we say "sin" that could give them an idea that we think we know what is right or wrong. I'm a christian myself and when I go on R&S, I can see so many people going against christians. And I must agree that a lot of christians are judgemental and I am willing to amit it myself. I'm guilty, I'm a sinner. Also people don't believe in God or His great creation, so when we talk about the sin that we do, they might feel as though their being judged. Just look at it in thier perspective. I can understand how they would feel about that.

Sin is to know to do good and do it not. Knowledge not lived is sin, so it is you who create it by not being faithful to what you know by living it. And Satan is the force/law which like gravity of mind forces, weighs down our consciousness to the earthly level or organic level. Redirect our thoughts to the earth. But this isn't a being, this is a natural organic limitation of man, the force is like gravity and is a law of being in a material world as an organism that becomes mechanical. Satan also plays the function of the left hand, which is corrective and test the people. However in the OT we see that the OT-God plays this function, as Satan isn't really mentioned at all, this function is corrective and it is the law that you sow what you reap.

satan is the cause of every thought, and action of anything or anyone bad and no good. You are right to blame him. But also to, their are the weak minded and stupid people also. The devil like the Bible says is here to deceive and destroy all that is good. He is a spirit just as God is, and even God said that satan was the most beautiful. People deceive them selves into thinking they are right when they are wrong. St.Mathew 24:24

You know, telling people that they are going to give you thumbs down isn't really helping yourself. It's a good question. Personally I am not a christian, I think that Christians use sin as a common enemy to bind them together. People simply don't want to admit that some "sins" make little sense, or as you said, they sin themselves and feel ashamed. In my opinion, that's a little silly, Christianity is meant to make you feel more secure, not paranoid about doing something wrong. Some of the nicest Christians I know are those who don't flip out if they call someone a fool, but who calmly deal with it without inflicting their sin on other people.

We don't believe in God, ergo no sin. Only ehtics and morality.
The idea that a supernatural being is "tempting" people to do things seems to most logical people to be a way to absolve blame for the things that people do wrong. I prefer to see people take responsibility for themselves totally.
But I didn't thumbs you down. I'm just explaining why others probaly did. There's enough excuses and lack of personal accountability in this world, without saying "It's Satan's fault! Don't blame me, I'm weak!"
Edit: Ok, you also don't seem to understand the concept of sin. Sin is an act against God, nothing more or less. If you don't believe in God, then you also don't believe in sin. It has nothing to do with good or bad.

What is said here, or not said here, cannot validate a theory to be a fact.
In any event, you claim Satan entices one to sin. This is false, if we are going to use Scripture as the basis for our beliefs regarding sin:
James 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Satan isn't necessarily involved in this regard.
And did you not know, Christians are dead to sin?

Most people won't admit that they sin. I have had my full share of sinning and the only one to blame for it is ME. Satin does cause the sinning, only in the respect that he's the instigator and enticer and he knows our weak spots. Most people don't like to admit when they're wrong...we just want to sit back and deny respibility for our actions.
