A good friend of mine in Austin formed a kindred (heathen/Asatru church/coven) and opened a Yahoo Group for its communications, announcements, and events planning.
At the bottom of the group page Yahoo had a little advert going with pagan-oriented selections from R&S . . . one of them caught my attention.
Y'know, crack dealers always give ya the first one for free too, lol. :-)
Kallan, Frater Pan, St. Toad, and Labgrrl were the first ones I came across that kept me coming back. I'm a teacher, so I'm off from work and I'm also helping with my mother's cancer recovery . . . this place has been my "downtime" and, as weird as it may sound, my *sanity* for the last two months.

I joined Yahoo! Answers because I wanted to know the statistical probability of there being no possible moves in a game of Solitaire. While I was waiting for answers (not that I got any) I figured I really should answer some questions since I was expecting other people to answer mine. This category caught my attention. Mostly just because of all the religious nuts. I'd seen them on telly, but I always figured the footage had been creatively edited to suit the 'stupid American' stereotype that was so popular at the time. I never thought that there were actually adults who believed in Noah's Ark, or who thought that the theory of evolution was an elaborate hoax.

I was googling home remedies for a sinus infection I had, and ended up here. Then I saw some Christian saying something stupid on the front page and I was like, "Oh, I have to step in!"
What made me stay is a combination of boredom, sadism, and attempting to show people that not all Christians are a certain way.

Stumbling around the internet one day googling some crap about a religious person who was in the news at that time....wound up here...
Stay because I found some people I have common bonds with and some are like family.
Pretty twisted huh?

I first came because of a paper I had to do for a class. I needed to interview a Muslim. I left after that but came back and hung out in the book section for awhile but it got kind of boring with all the "What should I read?" and the numerous questions about Harry Potter. So I eventually came here and found it interesting and enlightening.

I was still reeling from the experience of an Assembly of God church. I came here initially to hopefully educate the fundies. I stayed because I met some great people and I found camaraderie.

A link to Yahoo! Answers from a news article, and seeing a question about religion posted.
I stay because it is fun to argue my own point of view (and see what others think, also).

I was at work and I noticed answers on Yahoo.com. I went to it and started looking around. Eventually I made my way to R&S and I fell in love with it! I found it at a time in my life when I was evaluating my beliefs and looking for, well, answers.

I did a search asking a question and it brought me here. Then... then... I don't know. It was like being memorized by the eyes of a snake. I haven't been able to break the spell.

I had a question about Judaism, I stayed because I felt I could learn more, and teach some too...(actually, now that I think of it, I wanted Christians to reevaluate their actions, and question whether Jesus would really want them acting the way they were on here...condemning people to hell and all..)
