I've always been confused about this...
If they (most of them) are Buddhist then why do they celebrate Christmas?

That's a great question! I know that Christmas was a celebration originally from different pagan religions in Rome and the UK to celebrate the Winter Solstice-the Catholics (?) turned it into 'Christmas' (literally Mass of the Christ) b/c they couldn't get rid of the celebration altogether and decided instead to try and transform it into a Christian celebration. As far as I know, they weren't aware of the Chinese but Asian communities must have been celebrating some sort of Winter Solstice event anyway by the time the commercial aspect of Xmas got over there.

The same reason Atheist celebrate Christmas. *The want gifts. and don't get the true meaning of Christmas*

Christianity is followed in Japan too, and china, and korea, and india, and all over. They don't quite celebrate it like americans do tho.
