I have this problem every time I cut jalepenos for pico de gallo. It sucks. A good solution is when you are working with peppers is to use rubber gloves, like latex medical gloves.

Anyway. What you are looking for is something to neutralize an OIL. So water based things won't work. Try vinegar. I know from experience that it works on sunburn. I haven't tried it on pepper burns. I tried baking soda too but it only felt better for a few minutes. It got the smell off my hands.

Honestly, I know your pain and last time I had it, I wasn't thinking straight and overlooked vinegar completely. Give it a try and tell me what you think.

If you don't have a jug of vinegar, use pickle juice.

Go to your local pharmacy and get some vitamin E capsules. Puncture a hole in the capsule and drizzle the contents onto your hands. mix soap with this or you can just rub it into your hands leave on over night and wash off in the am. If you have an aloe plant you can break off a piece of the plant and rub it on your skin. In the future use latex gloves when cutting peppers.

oh yea , if its not too hot in your area and if you have some transplanting to do go out side and do that having your hands in the soil will help absorb the liquid . or place your hands in a bowl of corn meal with just a small amount of water.

I would suggest soaking your hands in some cold milk. This may sound crazy but try it I believe it will give you some relief. For future references when you are cutting peppers you should always wear plastic gloves.

Try soaking them in beer and if that doesn't work, try white vinegar.
