Go into the Control Panel and disable System Restore. REBOOT, then enable System Restore. You see, at that point, old Restore points are GONE. So make a new one right away.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

Then set a system restore by by use the Disk Cleanup utility. Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then Disk Cleanup. Click on the more options tab and then select Clean up in the System Restore dialog box.

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk CleanUp. Select C: and click on the 'More Options' tab. Click the 'Clean Up' button under the System Restore option and then click all the 'OK' s and 'Yes' s and 'Apply' s. This will delete all but last one of your System Restore points and free quite a lot of space.

Right click My Computer, Properties, and click the "System Restore" tab. Now turn off System restore and reboot your system. You can now turn System restore back on. It will set a new restore point at the time you turn in back on.
