Well from my experience, Christianity welcomes anyone who wants to learn of God. Although you have probably been to church before, you may want to attend a few sessions again and experience for yourself if this is what you want. If your primary reason for falling away from Catholicism are from the principle of their teachings, you may want to look into the other branches of Christianity.

Nothing is "involved" except for making the decision to attend Mass.
I would suggest that you do go to Reconciliation though, if you haven't been in a while.
I would also suggest that you attend several different Masses at different times that they are provided. The church that my family attends has several different types of masses. For instance, my family attends a Lifeteen Mass on Sunday evenings. The music is much more up to date (current Christian hits), and the Liturgy is focused more towards getting the message to the teens (which I have 3). They also have a more traditional Mass with a choir, and one that has the same type of music at the Lifeteen mass, but without the entire band, just a guitar player (if you don't want the drummer, or bass player)
You get the idea, go to one that you enjoy, and keep coming.
Hope you can find a Mass you enjoy, and welcome home.
Just my thoughts...

I rejoined last Sept. I was baptized Catholic and received my first holy communion. I stopped going after that.
~You have to go to RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) starts every Sept.
You attend classes from Sept-Easter. You go through all the necessary steps to be a true Catholic. My classes were once a week for 1 hour and 30 min.
Check your local Church bulletin and info should be inside! Or speak to a Priest or church Rep.
Good Luck!

Most of the time it’s as simple as going to confession and going to Mass. God’s mercy and forgiveness is free. If anything, I’d ask myself why did I leave in the first place, and then, why do I have the desire to go back? Talk with a priest, read the catechism/catholic encyclopedia to learn what the Church teaches on whatever question you have. Even ask WHY the Church believes the way She does. Rediscovery of the Faith is a journey, one that brings us closer to God and makes our love for Him stronger. It’s good to ask these questions because God wants us to know Him more deeply, wants our relationship with Him more intimate.
I’ll close and say God bless you and welcome home.

Attend a mass...try to go every sunday, join some church groups after awhile if you feel that you like the community of this catholic church.
That is all. There is nothing special to do. You could also go to a confessional, if you would like. Sometimes that helps you to get back into the swing of things.

I went to confession and forgot what to say. I told the priest it has been a long time since I have been to mass and confession and let the priest guide you from there. After that incident I went to all the Catholic churches in my area and chose the one that was right for me.

Just come on back.
Begin attending mass again.
Confess having left the Church via the sacrament of Reconciliation.
It couldn't be more simple.

Im doing the same thing. Im going to meet some of the staff to discuss because I still have questions having been evangelical.
It seems pretty straigforward. Its amazing to feel the presence of God and Christ in the intended setting.

You really should talk with your local Priest.
A good Confession might be all. I have known some that have gone through RCIA class if you are questioning the faith.
Your own unique situation might be different, best thing is talk to a Priest.
Good Luck and God bless your search.

Being a baptized, confirmed Catholic, all you need to do is go to confession so that you may worthily receive the Eucharist. I'm very happy that you want to return and receive Jesus in the Eucharist again. God bless.

Start going to Mass.
You probably should go to Confession before you receive the Eucharist.
Welcome back.
With love in Christ.
