Ever since I was about three I've had night terrors...I would scream in the middle of the night and not even realize it and then in the middle of the day the dream would come back and i could see it happening right in front of me. I was one of the kids who were very protected and I didn't watch anything over pg so I dont know where all the ideas came from. They went away for a while when i was about 12 but now they are back and they are worse than ever. How can I get them to stop?

Jeremy Taylor is a dream expert. His theory is the nightmares is an attempt by your subconscious to bring some information to the attention of the conscious mind.

If you start trying to remember your dreams and write them down, the intensity of your nightmares is likely to diminish.
Query "dream interpretation" for further information.

If you want to accelerate the process either work with a Jungian psychologist or find a dream group led by an expert.

see a doctor (psychologist, or a sleep study clinic), get some sleep studies done, and then the doctor can put you on some medication or order treatments to help. Night terrors is an actual sleepign disorder so you should have it checked out.

Whenever I have a nightmare and someone dies or gets hurt or something I would just say to myself, hey this is my dream.... and then I would just sit calmly in my dream. After a while the person that was hurt would come back to life or something.... my brain has such an imagination.
