Last night out of the blue our cat started running all around the house going crazy. He climbed the blinds, ran crazy through out the house, jumped high in the air over things, acted like he was chasing something when there was nothing to chase and so on. Once he was done, he flopped on the kitchen floor and went to sleep. Why do cats do this for?

Cats are high energy animals. They sleep and sleep and then find they have energy that they just need to use NOW.

Then they can have another little nap.

Its part of the mystery of cat.

Cats are proficient hunters and hunting behavior is in their genetic makeup. So even in play, they are just being cats.

Maybe they think youre crazy.....lol

Enjoy living with a non human species--they really have a lot to teach us if we are open to learning.

Not all cats do this, but some will we have 5 in the house and all are fine except one that is nutty, like you describe. we just tell her NO and sometimes more than once and it will sometimes help, I think it comes from there genes and has something to do with a ferel cat in there gene pool, That's just my opinion but we have had cats for many years and every now and again you get one that is nutty.

I have 6 cats on the second. My oldest cat is lovely laid again and affectionite. Every blue moon she runs round clawing the carpet, as even though it have been pretending to be on a mouse hunt. I feel it is lovely hilarious. But however, I can definetly inform she is gambling and being frisky. You definite it could no longer be that situation?

Indoor cats cant get their natural aggression out like outside cats can. They have no free space to roam or cant climb up a tree.Do you play with your cat? If you dont you may want to play with him like once oe twice a day.But make sure you put he toys in a box so he cant get them. Then when you go to play he wount be burnt out on the toys.
