Get his name and company information. Once you have it, tell him that you don't buy stuff from telemarketers. Let him know that if he ever calls again, that you will tell everyone that you know not to do business with him. If it continues, file harrassment charges against him.

I am assuming he is cold calling you to try and get you to change insurance companies. Tell him to stop calling you. That are very happy with your insurance company and are not looking to make a change. If you have to, tell him that his constant calls have irritated you to the point that even if you were looking to make a change, it would be with any other office in the area but his and there is no way you intend to purchase a policy from him.

If it's your agent - call him back and set up a time to meet with him.

Most insurance agents are trained to answer rejection. Thus, if you did not give a clear indication that you have not intention to do any business with them, they will continues to call you.

Thus, you must be straight forwards and firm to tell them "NO" if you are not interested. This will save their time and stop these nuisance to yourself.

Maybe you want to have a spare mobile number for lucky draws.

Insurance agencies and other companies bought your number from a database company.

If it is your residential number, request for it to be confidential.

It can't be helped that your mobile number is already circulating in the database industry. They are pass your number around to make some money.

Tell them that you are an insurance agent yourself. If they ask, tell them you are from Prudential, office in Singapore Post Center. There are alot of prudential agency there. It will at least stop that agent and his/her friends from calling.
