on insurance websites where they do lots of quotes from different insurers, the question they ask bout your licence is what type is it, ie full or provisional or full or automatic etc and how long have you had your licence. On the norwich union website, it specifies that it wants you to say how long you have held a licence from the time you got your provisional licence. The others dont say whether this is what they are asking or not. Ive had a provisional licence for 18 years, but when I pass my test (hopefully this month) I will then have had a full licences for less than a year. What answer should I give for the question, how long have you held a licence? Its not clear on the websites....

most of these mean from the time you have a full license. Its handy to do online quotes ,but its best to ring also as the company iam changing too for example after i humed and ared
they kept dropping the price.

Good luck with your test but make sure you really shop around for the best quote, norwich union just quoted me for this year and my insurance has gone up this year a £140 with them and nothing has changed my end.

You MUST state that you have only held a Full licence from when you pass your driving test. If you do not your insurance WILL be void. They are not interested how long you have had a provisional licence

It means full licence, you will be classed as an inexperienced driver. Ok you have been driving illegally on your own ffor 18 years without an accident. That's the penalty you can not get away from it.

Why have youi taken your test now been pulled over ?

Normally it means a full year.
In your case when you pass your test it would mean that you held the Full Lic for under one year.
I suggset that you buy a car with the lowest Ins group to get the lowest quote.
