After the expiration date, it's anyone's guess how much of the active ingredient remains effective. The company has tested, and has determined that after a certain age, they won't be responsible for it anymore. Aspirin isn't that expensive, so just throw it away and buy a smaller bottle of fresh stuff. Medication has a use by date for a reason, usually because it will have begun breaking down and isn't dependable anymore to deliver the promised dosage. But some medicines can break down to things that can be hazardous to your health. It's not worth it to find out which it will be for you. It might work, it probably won't, and it might make you sicker than you already are. That's quite a bit of risk for a lousy aspirin.

Be very careful when you buy aspirin from a third party vendor such as Shop Medical Supply via Amazon...they recently sent me 250 count with an expiration date of 04/15. Amazon was very nice about the matter and gave me a refund without having to send the Aspirin to them or the Vendor.....at my cost to pay for postage. I am very suspicious of medical supply stores who try to unload medicine close to their expiration date, I absolutely will not use the aspirin that was sent but will dispose of them.

Throw it away. Aspirin breaks down quickly when it expires. It's cheap enough to buy a fresh bottle.

You should never take any medication after the expiration date. Drugs can change or loose effectiveness as they age.

If there is no sign of moisture damage, you are usually safe to continue taking it for about 6 months.
