He wants to see how into the kiss you are. It can get a little awkward when both of you have your eyes open, though, lol.

some people kiss with eyes open as they want to see. kissing with eyes closed is best as your other senses are then heightened.
at worst he is bored and looking over your shoulder, but doubt this is the case as everyone enjoys kissing.

it depends on where he is looking lol

how do I know because I always open my eyes while kissing halfway..it's my way of getting more into the moment I guess
