im 14 and my mom thinks im anoerixic

my typical eating day

-for breakfast I have a cup of green tea
-some fruit for a snack
-and a salad for dinner

She tells me i eat way to little and she thinks im anoerixic. I just eat a little cause I dont want to get fat

im 14, 5'9, 130 pounds, and a size 3 in jeans. I look average but she thinks im anoerxic.

If you're an active 14 year old then that isn't enough food for your body. If you're worried about your weight ask your mother to take you to see someone that can help the both of you understand the amount of calories per day you should be eating and what's the most healthiest way for you to eat those calories and maintain the weight that's comfortable for you.

Your mother has a reason to be concerned because it sounds as though you feel that if you eat just a little more and can fit into a size 5 jeans you'd try and diet or make yourself throw up just to get back into your size 3 jeans.

Please talk to your mother about going to talk to a doctor or a nutritionist about helping you eat more health and putting on a few more pounds but in a healthy way.

Man I wish I had your self-control. But really, you are too young to be depriving you body of nutrients. Have your mom do some research on the disease and prove to her you are not anorexic. As long as you are happy where you are and don't continuously obsess over your weight, you are fine. It has more to do with what you think than how you eat. I once saw a woman who was 5'6" and 39 (not a typo) 39 pounds say she was fat. It's mental, and if you can stay at that weight and not fluxuate, and you're happy, you're good to go. She is just doing what moms do and being worried. Talk to her about it.

5'9 and 130 is really skinny though... Your height affects that. A lot of girls are probably anywhere from 4-10 inches shorter and at the same weight who aren't fat.

The problem is, you need to be actually getting more calories as others have said. This little dieting stuff is only necessary if you were overweight or you're much older.

I wouldn't say anorexic, though....

But not to worry, you'll put on more weight as you get older whether you want to or not lol.

You're really young. You shouldn't be concerned about drinking only water and green tea and eating fruit and salads. You need milk and juice to drink and meat to eat. Stop eating like you're on a diet and maybe she'll stop thinking you're anorexic.

I'm 5'8" and 145 my hubby stills tells me I'm to skinny... You need to gain just a little bit more weight cause your tall.. Your not going to get fat... Just try eating fruit and veggies for breakfest, a protein shake for lunch, and a meat and veggie dinner.

Just eat healthy and excercise...


Is it really worth being hungry all the time???

I especially hate while those people submit thoroughly dolled up photographs of themselves (Or somebody else O_o) the place that they had probable be an 8 and say "people continuously tell me that i'm somewhat yet i don't think of i'm, i'm extremely self-concious, what do you think of?"

You may be certainly heading in that direction!
If you don't eat a proper amount of food your body won't develop properly.
You don't have to 'eat to get fat' but you could certainly eat more than you do!
It is simply NOT HEALTHY to starve yourself at your age.

Sweetheart, you need about 1200 caloris a day JUST TO SURVIVE. You are not eating close enough the amount of calories you are supposed to have.

5'9" and only 130! good god that isnt healthy... you really need to eat more... you are young and you can eat as much as you want you wont get fat your matabilizm is way to high... seriously get some meat on them bones!

you're still in your growing years and you definitely eat too little. You need a lot more protein and meat in your diet and need to feed those muscles. I totally agree with her. She should definitely discuss it with your doctor.
