Conspiracy implies something illegal. Scientists are just doing their job, digging up facts and evidence. Would you have them hindered by one religion at the expense of all the rest of us?

Hi and GM James.....I appreciate the thought, but you know, I still believe that God had a hand in the creation besides evolution so the scientists can talk their 'smuck' all they want...lol.! I understand where the scientists are coming from. However, some great force had to have created the heavens and earth and our solar system. I believe that God started all the creations but evolution finished where God left off so do speak. You didn't ruin my day, but you have a good question. Scientists are out for discoveries and scientific 'theories'. They don't necessarily care one way or the other if we believe or not in Gods creation. They just want to make a 'statement' for their findings. Let them discover away but in the end they will come to find out who started the 'creation' and what didn't!..Have a blessed day!

They still dont know what in the world they are talking about, just another new theory if you read down a bit it says this.
"Although the fossils may be old, they aren't the oldest evidence of life on Earth. The most ancient specimens are 3.5 billion-year-old, dome-shaped clumps of bacteria called stromatolites, which were found in western Australia and suggest that shallow seas were the birthplace of life."
So now they say it developed deep down then they say in shallow always changing always contradicting, they don't know. Why do the run from the one how created it all and that is God.

Not really. Evolution in no way debunks religion. It only debunks a far fectched book of the bible. In that book, it outlandishly states that the universe was created in days. Days are an Earth term. A day on Mars is quite different than a day on the Earth or any other planet rotating at a different pace. In the book of genesis, it also says that god punished Adam and Eve for learning about good and evil. No real parental figure would ever punish a child for learning.

I think they are trying to prove the majority of what religions say wrong.
I myself believe in a higher power not neccessarily an entity like an all powerful and knowing being But I kinda believe the earth sun and moon are our gods.We couldnt sustain life without any of them.
If you ask me I would love to prove religion wrong. 90 percent of wars and terrorism is caused by religion.

I read that article and find it to be very interesting. Although I am not sure that we will ever be able to 100% prove how life on this planet started. While I think that it is more likely that life evovled from lower life forms in the ocean it would be hard to prove 100%. But, it makes more sense than any type of religious creation myths.

Splendid information, for which much thanks.
This will no doubt yield useful data, but as the article says it's not especially relevant to life's origin. The H2S-eating bacteria that are at the bottom of the ecosystem at hydrothermal vents have I believe been shown to have evolved from surface-dwelling, photosynthetic bugs. They still have the old surface-bug DNA.
It certainly shows that life will crowbar its way into incredibly hostile ecological niches, and has been doing so for a long time.

All that religious people can offer, particularly christian/creationists, and particularly in the USA, is denial, deliberate misinterpretation, ignorance and lies..
Whatever it takes to avoid the truth, and hold onto their self centered promise of eternal life..
If they weren't so vile to the concept of attaining knowledge of the natural world, they'd be laughed at..

Again, most organised religion has no problem with the earth being 4 billion years old nor with the fact that evolution has occured.
