People keep talking about it, but no one had ever blocked me. I was beginning to feel, well, overlooked.

Also, isn't it cowardly to hide your Q&A? Don't you like to be able to check and see if the asker is a troll?

Wow, Deke, I have led a sheltered life. I can't imagine anyone having so little going on in their life that they become a YA stalker. Sad.

No, K*i*t*t*y, I don't take it seriously. This is called tongue in cheek.

OKAY, OKAY. I wasn't going to say, but several people have assumed I was thumping my Bible, which I was not. This person said [paraphrase], "If someone asked about my contribution to R&S, what would they hear?" I put one word - troll. Based on the answers I saw before I was blocked, I'd say he/she had to block a lot of people.

There's many people that keep their Q+A private because they're targeted, meaning someone goes through and reports everything they say.

Congratulations on your first blockage.

I have never looked at those issues from that perspective. If someone blocked me I would think they are uptight. I really don't care if someone hides their Q&A and I don't care if someone is a so-called troll.

I just take it one Q or A at a time, usually laughing as I go along. And I like most of the "trolls". They are the lifeblood of the board.

Cowardly? It's more like an act of self-preservation, as so many people like to add themselves to your contacts list, stalk you, snipe you, and try their damndest to get your account deleted.

I recently learned that I was blocked by another atheist. I don't know if there is a bigger compliment that I could receive.

EDIT : I had about 40 people add me to their contact list, only about half of which I knew. I have no idea who the others were, and it's well known that some people run multiple IDs here. It's not out of the realm of possibility that someone who I "knew" as a different ID added me, and was going through my Q&A's one by one, trying to eliminate me. I have the violation notices to back that theory up. Once I removed my contacts, and made my Q&A's private, it stopped.
