Trinity is no were in the bible but Christians call God a trinity all the time. No one in the bible called God a trinity. The bible says He's one but trinity means three. Isn't calling Him a trinity putting God in a box? So do we need to call God a trinity?

i dont believe in the trinity.

i believe they are one in purpose.

ex: in matthew, when jesus prays for his apostles before he gets crucified, he says they are one with me, and i am one with them when he prays for them.

when he is baptised, god says behold my son, while the holy ghost comes down like a dove.

before (stephen??) died, he saw jesus on the right hand of god.

i think the whole trinity thing was made up by the nicean creed. we are all made in his image, are we a trinity???

The Trinity is a wrong concept. It is very confusing indeed. Jesus Christ said himself "A Spirit does not have flesh and bones" . His followers touched him and felt that he was indeed a human made of flesh and bones. God or the Spirit is not made of flesh and bone. Therefore the Trinity is not possible.

The Bible says the following

(i) "My Father is greater than I."[The Bible, John 14:28]
(ii) "My Father is greater than all."[The Bible, John 10:29]
(iii) "…I cast out devils by the Spirit of God…." [The Bible, Mathew 12:28]

The above verses clearly states that Jesus Christ is not God. He is just a Prophet or messenger.

A man cannot be a Man and God (Creator) at the same time. Some people say water can be in 3 forms. Gaseous state (vapor), Solid State (Ice) and liguid state. Although they are in 3 forms their component is the same H20. God, Spirit because they are not made of flesh and blood cannot be same as a human being or Prophet. God in 3 forms this is not mathematically possible.

The word 'Trinity' is not mentioned in the Bible. I think they came up with the idea later on. No where in the Bible Christ claims himself as God and asks people to worship him.

Well the bible does say Jesus is Divine. Christianity is based upon the concept that Jesus is God. According to the bible Jesus is God, so is the Holy Spirit, and the father, so God is actually three.

The trinity is not taught in the bible, but it is a word and doctrine that tries to explain how the one God can be three. the trinity is a doctrine of the Godhead. So there is one Godhead consisting of three personalities.

Without the trinity Christianity would have no reason to exist. Look at the churches who deny the trinity, the UPC claim that Jesus is God and the Holy spirit. This theory suggests that God left heaven to be born on earth, so who was in heaven ruling when he was on earth? It also suggests that when working as the Holy Spirit Jesus is no longer Jesus but the Holy spirit. Man he must get tired switching around from God to Jesus to the Holy spirit all the time.

The JW's claim Jesus is simply the son of God and one reason they are called a cult by the protest churches. Yes, I meant to say protest. but Jesus himself claimed to be God and equal with God and that is one reason he was crucified by the God fearing Jews.

Many people are mislead by this trinity doctrine and it originated from pagan philosophy, Some of the early so-called church fathers were Trinitarians who also held to philosophy so they added this to their belief, thus making a Trinity. God is one and not Three. This one God manifested himself in the flesh which is Jesus and thus the scripture says "In him dwells the fulness of the Godhead bodily"
(Col 2: 9). Yes, Jesus is God but he is the true God in bodily form, Thus this is God manifested in flesh reconciling the world to himself (2 Cor 5: 19). Most Christians today believe in the Trinity without even studying for themselve, they say that the bible seems to talk about a Trinity but they are sadly mistaken and their are many scriptures that contradict their belief. God is One and only One. Jesus is that God manifested in flesh. This is the Oneness of God.

God in his transparent form is the Father and when in Jesus God is refered to as the Son. Its still the one God manifesting himself in three ways to humanity. The Father in Creation, Son in redemption and Holy Spirit in regeneration.

In Genesis 2:7, God created man in three parts. He formed a 1)body from the elements of the earth, breathed into it from his own 2)spirit, and man become a living 3)soul. You will see refers to body, soul and spirit throughout scripture. (See 1 Thessalonians 5:23 for example).

Each of these parts operates in a different "realm", with a different function, and under different rules. The body touches the physical real, allows us access to earth, and is subjected to the laws of time and space. The soul (which is made up the mind, will and emotions) operated in the mental realm. It has no direct control over the physical, nor it is bound by physical laws. The spirit communicates within the heavenly or spiritual realm, and has contact with God himself.

Each of these "parts" is just as much "you" as any of the others. Take away any of the three, and you could not longer function. All three or needed to make you a single and complete being. All three exist at the same time.

So God also operates in all three realms. In the heavenly realm, he is called God the Father. When he appeared fro a time on earth in human form, he was called God the Son (or Jesus). And he dwells in the hearts of men as God the Holy Spirit. One God manifest in all three realms that humans touch. Each just as much "God" as any of the others. Each with a special role or function to perform.

There is only one God, but he manifest in the three realms of existence as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

The trinity is the Father Son and Holy Ghost. Some faiths believe in the holy trinity but it is not just "God" but a better way to define all of God.

From wiki:
In Christianity, the doctrine of the Trinity states that God is one being who exists, simultaneously and eternally, as a mutual indwelling of three persons: the Father, the Son (incarnate as Jesus of Nazareth), and the Holy Spirit. Since the 4th century, in both Eastern and Western Christianity, this doctrine has been stated as "three persons in one God," all three of whom, as distinct and co-eternal persons, are of one indivisible Divine essence, a simple being. Supporting the doctrine of the Trinity is known as Trinitarianism. The majority of Christians are Trinitarian, and regard belief in the Trinity as a test of orthodoxy. Opposing, nontrinitarian positions that are held by some groups include Binitarianism (two deities/persons/aspects), Unitarianism (one deity/person/aspect), the Godhead (Latter Day Saints) (three separate beings) and Modalism (Oneness).

In addition to teaching that God comprises three persons, the doctrine also teaches that the Son Himself has two distinct natures, one fully divine and the other fully human.

Neither the Old Testament nor New Testament uses the term "Trinity," though Trinitarians believe the concept is implicit in various biblical passages (see Scripture section below). The doctrine of the Trinity is the result of continuous exploration by the church of the biblical data, argued in debate and treatises.[1] It was expressed in early writings from the beginning of the second century forward.[1] The First Council of Nicaea in 325 AD established a nearly universal Trinitarian dogma and expressly rejected any heresies. The most widely recognized Biblical foundations for the doctrine's formulation are in the Gospel of John.

1st Century Christians didn't believe in a trinity.
1st Century Christians didn't believe in the teachings of Plato.

Only after the great apostacy did the trinity come to be a 'so called' christian teaching.

Jesus, John, Paul, and Peter did not teach a trinity.

The Trinity is just a way of saying there's kind of a Christian godscape that includes the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost (or Spirit). There was a lot of uncertainty about how those three worked together, so they kinda came up with this vague thing that can't be understood, and therefore, can't be refuted.

God the Father is the uncomprehendable and unseen Creator, Jesus is the Word of God made flesh sent to suffer and die as a sacrifice to destroy sin and death, and the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God (brought by Jesus) given to mankind. In essence God (in Spirit) is already within you (as a temple of the Spirit) just like as He was in Jesus but you have to acknowledge this and make the choice to follow the straight path. The Trinity idea became popular because these 3 distinct events that define Christianity involve Almighty God in 3 different ways; when Christians refer to the Trinity they are not worshipping 3 separate gods, they are paying reverence to God's Creation, Salvation and Guidance of mankind.

God is a trinity, because the term refers to the perfect relationship of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Calling Him a trinity doesn't limit him, or put him in a box, it allows for the infinite qualities of God. Saint Patrick explained the trinity to people by showing them a three leafed shamrock; it has three distinct parts, yet is one plant. Helpful?
