i like this girl and i think she likes me, but she wont show it when im near her when she is with her friends ,she just ignores me, when she is alone she'll talk to me, flirt with me and everything. would my friends being geeks has any effect on this?

if she wont show it infront of her friends, that could be for several reasons...
a) shes embaressed (i dont tell my friends about my crushes cause i know theyd [albeit goodheartedly] tease me, and i like to keep my personal feelings just that, personal)
b) her friends are those stupid annoying influencial friends who arent really friends but a silly girl mafia type thing that end up controlling the group members. in which case...pfft. good luck there. either shes gunna have to leave her friends, or you'll have to win them all over
however, like one of the others said...who you wanting to date, the friends or her? if shes worth it, n if she thinks you are in return, bother the friends. they dont matter *waves them off* if they dont like you cause your friends are "geeks" (Which is oh so cute atm) then theyre superficial cows.
it depends on how well you know her. im an untrusty kinda person, and id suspect if you didnt know her well she might be leading you on (girls can be oh so cruel like that). but who knows. best bet is to ask her out n see what she does...or somehow find a way to get her friends to like you. though thats a secondary option for sure. but whatever happens, dont change yourself or your friends just for them

That people stereotype can be a problem, but you standing off and not inserting yourself into her world isn't helping. Guys are guys, girls are girls- I promise, you can hang out with whoever you want.

to be brutally honest.......she likes you, but doesn't want to be seen with you or have anything to do with you. if you want to be with her you have to ask her why she is doing this to you or get in good with her friends, then she won't have a reason to ignore you. good luck!!
