To forgot someone that you had a long term relationship with is always the hardest. Everything you did and visited always will remind you of him or her.
The best way to get pass this time is to not forget the things that you both had shared but to cherish it. it is a stepping stone towards your do's and don'ts in your next relationship. As you know that everyone will tell you that "Time will heal the wound of your cuts and hurts, but a lifetime memories will always be cherished for a lifetime!" So, just give yourself the time to relax and reflect. That should be a good way for your to start off.
I hope that you will get through this as many people had this in any part of their life and had gone through as well. So, just take it easy and remember to always breath when you feel that you are sadden by the things that surround you because of him.

It won't be easy but you have to CHOOSE to forget him. Consider those things that remind you of him as the past... there were happy memories and sad memories but it's all over now. Memories are memories but you can always choose to stop letting them get into you. Learn from the experience and let go. It may take time, be sad if you have to but you can't let the past haunt you every now and then... eventually, you'll really have to let go and move on.

i knw its sad if u really loved the person n also takes time for a heart n mind to delete memories but ignorance is the best key, even if u see things happening try hard to act as if u see nothing happening. If that happens in a public place find something different n concetrate on it but if alone think of the negative things the person used to do n then that will upset you n make u get all the thoughts out of your mind."Try it maybe it can work"otherwise good luck!

It isn't going to be easy and I am sure you know it too. But in time, you will forget. Keep yourself busy with work and surround yourself with good company. You don't need to get rid of the things that remind you of him, just keep them away out of sight, out of mind. All the best!

Change your surrounds. When my gf broke up with me I took eveything of hers and put into a bag and when she come by the other day I gave her the bag. She gave the bag back and told me to do what I wanted with it. So now some of it is in the garbage the rest is hidden in my desk in my apt.

You need to try to put as much as you can out of sight. It is not good to surround yourself with things that make you feel sad.
