Very probably. Also, the fastest spreading language in USA right now is one called SPANGLISH - a cross mix of Spanish and English.
We should remember that the Spanish language got to the Americas long before English arrived.
Here's a few Spanish place-names in USA to be going on with : -
Texas, Arizona, California, Los Angeles etc.

A Texan should be proud of his ability to speak Spanish, after all, his cowboy horse and everything associated with it is actually Spanish, including the saddle.

Edit: why are so many folk opposed to Latinos? These are the same people who gave us Michael Angelo, Christopher Columbus, Segovia etc.

I think you have got that round the wrong way ...the Latino's will be the Majority - in a few years time - as it seems all the Mexican's want to move to America..( most of them already have ) White Anglo Saxon's will be the Minority.
