Uh-oh... i can tell you I use to correct papers at the University of Montreal and rejected project for being copied. Normally you can go in appeal and win, but more than often you might lose. Reason being that if you are the corrector, normally a good one while back up its saying by bringing the original version and show the comparison with the copied paper. I am not saying you did it, but if you didnt then you need to find out what they base themselves on and which other paper or book they think you've copied from. There is nothing wrong with paraphrasing or basing yourself on another piece of work if references are done properly. Meaning that every single bits you inspire yourself from needs to be noted with a reference at the bottom or end of your text. If you state you didnt know then maybe you might win. This could be your best chance.

Hi there Shadow_adorable, Just write a letter that appeals to their better nature. Make it clear how important it is for you to continue studying at university. If they had proof that you copied/ plagarised, try telling in them that it was not your intention to do this. Explain that you may not have cited your sources adequately; and that you may have been deficient in the way that you referenced. Say that if they will give you a chance, you will make a concerted effort to place all of your references in footnotes and in your bibliography. Apologise profusely and hope for the best. If you can prove that you are genuine and that you want to get on and be a successful student, they may re-consider. I wish you all the best! Let me know how you get on.

Have they provided proof of what it was copied from? It's not something they'd make up. You say that appeal should be solid - sounds like you are aware that it was copied already hmmmm..?

They need to inform you as to which passages from you work are plagarised. They should tell you where these passages have been copied from. You should be able to present evidence that it is your own research and not copied from other pieces of research. It may be a simple case that you have included ideas and information from others' work but have not adequately cited these.
