Good for you! It only hurts just a pinch (like if someone pinched you hard) and for only that nanosecond when the needle is inserted (and if you get a really good technician, it won't hurt at all). Just tell the tech taking your blood that you have a fear of needles and look away so you don't have to see what's going on, think of something sweet and happy. It'll be over pretty fast. You should learn how to do this because as you get older you'll have to have blood taken regularly. And just think about what a good thing you are doing for someone.

well i cant really say that it does hurt or it doesnt...it all comes down to the doctor you git doing the blood donation. I donate blood like every so often. But if you get a good nurse who knows how to inject the needle without moving it inside trying to find a vein it will be less painful. But sometimes the vein is difficult to find so they have to do it multiple times. But if you are scared of needles and have that fear already. of course..its mindset and already in your head its going to hurt and its going to be worse when you actually get it. but like i said its all about the person you get and i think you make things smooth.....they will be...

it doesn't hurt that bad, just don't look at it during being injected in u ,
try to think about how u gonna save lives and make a difference to some one who really wants that blood , a child , injured father or mother will be able to go back to his children just because u have a good heart and give away some of ur blood to help.
think of ur blood as a second chance for some one who need it badly to start a new beginning.
believe it doesn't hurt when u think that way.... well that works for me before i hope it works for u.

It doen't really hurt it's a big pinch as the needle goes in and then it is just uncomfortable. When the needle comes out you will just feel pressure. Just think happt thought and remember to relax.

It hurts when they insert the needle but after that, it's OK. Most people find that it's not nearly as bad as they thought it would be. Some people find themselves lightheaded afterwards - taking extra fluids before and after helps prevent this. Good luck and congratulations on doing a good thing despite your fears!

It is a big needle and it does pinch. But it is not unbearable. While you're doing it, just think about what a good thing you're doing and it will be over before you know it!
