Was trying to delete morpheus and folowed inst. went to START / RUN then typed regedit. When I got there started deleting files well stupid me deleted the wrong files(hkey???), now some programes don't work. How do I fix this???

how do i get the OS? or is there a web page i can download for free? would i need the windows xp disc?

you silly git LOL
NEVER play with registry settings unless you know what you're doing(I learnt the hard way too, many years ago)

go to start>run>type"sfc /scannow" (without quotes)

you will need your OS disk because it may ask for it to replace missing files that were removed by you.

you may also have to replace SP2 if (like mine) it's on a seperate disk to the OS.

Hey there...
I think that you just messed up, IF you did not make a back up copy of your registry.

This is how I do it.

Open regedit.
Save each HIVE (the listings on the left) to a reg file.
this way if something goes wrong, you have it later.

I would do a system restore & go back to a date before you made this mistake,

To recover rigistry you must have a backup.
OR
To recover risgistry you can reinstall you operating system
OR
Repair your Operating System.

you must download a receovery software according to your operating system which will help you to receover the deleted files...........
