Toy poodles (I've had two) need more bathing than the average mutt but they don't need to be bathed every other day! I just used to bathe mine when they got dirty, once every few weeks.

As far as fleas go, ask your vet for a really good flea treatment - Frontline is expensive but very good - this should keep him flea free for a while, also make sure you treat your house too (with a spray) because the flea eggs and larvae will live in the carpet and just jump back onto him again!

As for hair falling out, that happened to one of my poodles but she was really really old and near the end of her life when it happened - it was a result of the fact that she was really really ill and her immune system was shutting down. I'm assuming he's not ill like this?

Check with your vet because poodles do not shed normally so something is wrong if his hair is falling out.

First stop bathing him so much. You're only serving to dry out skin, which going to lead to itchiness, and possibly secondary skin infections. Dogs don't need to be bathed that much. Once a month tops, and even that is a bit much. I generally recommend twice a year unless they are obviously dirty.

If you've got a flea infestation your going to need to treat your house, yard and the dog. For the dog get Frontline or Advantage, use monthly even after the fleas are gone for prevention.

For the yard get a spray that contains and insect growth regulator (IGR) and for the house get foggers also with an IGR. Plan to leave with your dog for several hours while the foggers work. Getting a product with an IGR will kill not only adult fleas but eggs as well. One without an IGR will only kill adults leaving the eggs to hatch a couple weeks later starting the problem all over again.

It is also very possible that your dog has a flea allergy. Ask your vet for something to help with the itching while you get the fleas under control.

Another thing to look at is the possibility of a thyroid disorder. Dogs with thyroid problems can start going bald, the hair grows back with proper treatment.

That said the hair loss is likely due to overbathing and a flea allergy, but always better to play it safe.

DUDE YOUR BATHEING it everyday... thats not good... You could kill the dog's natural hair oil? Are you just using plain water or shampoo? If u use plain water like a rinse i guess its okay. If u use shampoo everyday no no...But i may be wrong go to the vet..

Pls bring him to the vet to get him checked. Make sure it is not just fleas problem. Get him some omega supplements to help with his coat condition.

I think it is due to washing him/her too often with Flea shampoo. The shampoo can destory his skin, thus causing hair loss.

To be on the safe side, take him to the vet.
