My cat Pablo is the oldest cat I've ever had and she's just turned 5. I'm so glad that we can still look forward to 10+ years together! She's the longest I've ever had a pet and has been a godsend since the day I got her!
Congrats and Happy Birthday to your cat!
**and many more.....!**

We got our cat Sindy in 1983 as a kitten. We lost her to kidney failure in 1998, making her 15.
It was so hard losing her. We got her when I was 11 and just about to start High School (she came to "see me off" on my first day, in my mum's arms) and when she died I was 26 and married. She'd been there through all the upheavals and changes in my life and I missed her so much. I still miss her now.

also- I kow you asked about cats, but thought I'd add that my dog was 18 when we put him to sleep.... my current senior furbabies are 8 (cat) and 9 (dog)

I had two sisters who lived til they were 15, but unfortunately we made the mistake of moving close to a busy road and they both got hit.

It wasn't my cat, but my first husband's parents cat ... her name was Jing, and she lived until she was 27 years old, and died in my mother-in-law's arms one day ... she was 'fine' one minute, then climbed up, settled down, and died. She was a sweet cat ... but alway loved to 'chase birds' (although she was very 'careful' never to actually catch one ... if she had, she'd probably have been too 'scared' to hurt it, and might have gotten 'pecked' badly).
