How many weeks/months does it take before you stop dating someone and begin a committed relationship?

It is usually like a 3-4 weeks or like 2-3 months. What's average? I normally jump into relationships early but I'm "dating" someone now and that's not the norm for me so I'm trying to see what is the norm as far as making the relationship a comittment.

There is no norm. It's whatever works for each couple. You're not in a committed relationship, until you tell each other you love each other, and you sit down and verbally agree not to date other people.

it takes one date for us. it takes 6yrs for some people, it is never for others.
