I was hoping to look for a champagne that is sweet, given that I don't drink champagne often and i don't know my stuff! It would go with dessert, or birthday cake. I was told to get Rossi Asti Spumante, that it is a sweet champagne. Can anyone suggest me a good one, not too expensive, but still good in taste that would go well with some birthday cake? Also, i see people put a strawberry on their champagne cups that sit at the rim, but some people dunk their strawberry in the cup so the champagne gets poured over it. Is there a correct way to do this? Thanks for the help!

Martini and Rossi Asti is your best bet. An Italian champagne that is sweet with no after taste. Costs between $10-15 a bottle. Serve it cold with a thin slice of strawberry on top. Everyone will appreciate the sweetness and the strawberry.

If you want champagne then most of the big champagne Houses do a Rich, Demi-Sec or even Sec. I think two of the more available ones in the States are Taittinger Nocturne
and Moet & Chandon Nectar. Moet markets differently in the States form the UK and Europe, as you seem to have a sweeter tooth for Champagne, so I may not have that name correct.
If you aren't too fussed whether it is champagne or or just fizzy white then any Asti Spumate would probably be a good choice. Sweeter by nature and goes very well with strawberries.

Since I'm no longer definite wherein you're placed and what precisely your charges shall be at your nearby wine store, this can be a very vast, and potentially erroneous, reaction. However, Domaine Chandon, that is the California property for Moet Chandon in Champagne, France, has an overly satisfactory bubbly that I have continuously loved. Friexenet will paintings as good and there may be one from Australia referred to as Seaview that is a Brut that are meant to be for your cost variety as good.

You don't want Champagne if you are looking for spumante. And spumante isn't sweet unless it says "Moscato" on the label. A Moscato bubbly wine is 100% perfect for accompanying cake and other sweets deserts and quite nice with strawberries (or other fruit) in it.

Balatore Gran Spumanti is good, about $9 a bottle,
Martini and Rossi Asti is about $12 and if you want a sweeter dessert one, try a moscato. YUMMM!

Cheap and easy...Baby Duck. The strawberry is used to prevent the bubbles from overflowing. You can use a spoon, cork, berry, or just take your time pouring it.
