I am 31, I am going back to school I start in September and I am so excited. my life is finally going somewhere, but i still have this feeling that i want to die. I get depressed and all i can think about is how it would feel not to be here anymore. I don't want to die i know this but i can't stop the thoughts or the feeling of confustion. I have seen a doctor who tells me to take meds but not interested was on them before and i did try to kill myself. God is not the answer so please don't sujest it. Tried the hole religion thing and found more liers and hypercrites in the church then i did out side it. I am happy at least I feel that way some times but i don't know what i am doing I am lost and don't know how to find me. Don't have anyone to talk to anymore when i do get confused and paniced not sure what i want but please help me.

Okay. Well, it sounds like things are starting to look up for you- you're starting school again, that's a start.
You sound like you need to go to therapy. You have problems that are probably causing this obsession with death.
And listen. I know you tried the church and religion stuff and that obviously wasn't a good experience for you. But have you looked (I'm NOT trying to convert you, I swear!) at Zen Buddhism? It doesn't put much of an emphasis on God and is all about living in the moment, something that you need to do.
If that interests you, go here to read about it, it may give you some guidance and hell, you may even like it!

I know how you feel. Life is hard, it really is. And I don't believe that religion is the answer, either. But I think we have to believe that life will eventually get better. And despite how tempting suicide might seem, imagine the effect your death would have on your family/friends. They don't deserve that kind of pain. Neither do you. Just take some time to yourself, relax and breathe deeply. I would suggest therapy, because it does help. So do meds. You just need to find the ones/dosage that work for you, and that might take a little time.

I hope you find what you're looking for.

First of all I think its kick a%$ that you are going back to school!
I know that feeling of wanting to die and meds sometimes dont get rid of that usually it takes talk therapy. Right now I am struggling to figure out who or what my higher power is. The God I was raised with let me down so well mother nature is looking pretty good to me right now. Getting in touch with yourself will answer questions to that confusion. Somewhere down the line you were sent negative messages. I had to go through several therapists I finally found one that I think can really help me. I havent trusted anyone in a long time but I feel like its okay to trust her. So def check out counseling services at school and they can refer you to someone. Talking to a counselor would be a good start. Also good luck in your classes:)

You said God is not the answer. What kind of belief system do you have? In other words, what do you think is going to happen to you when you die? Do you think you will just cease to exist? And if so, what do you base this belief on?

I submit that God IS the answer. The people that claim to follow God are not the answer, God Himself is the answer. Read about Him in the Bible, and He will give you a reason for living.

If you kill yourself, you will find that your life after death is much worse than your life before death.

suicide is not the answer. just keep on pushing and life will get better. like you said, you're excited to go to school in a month, and i bet you'll meet lots of new, cool people there! there's always hope =]]

ps~ dont give up on God..i know there are a lot of messed up people who claim to be Christian but in truth they are nothing like what they are supposed to be. Christianity in its purest form is beautiful and gets people through the toughest times

There's always an understanding and caring mind here. Can't promise that you'll love life more if you talk to me or not but it's worth a try. People need people to talk to.
